Summer Catch-Up

As you know, I have been a little behind with my blogging.
Here are some summer fun images:

GranFran and Jimp's granddaughters came to visit and Momma, Daddy and I got to go play with them!
This is Olivia.

This is Emma.  She played great songs while I danced.  In this picture, I am helping her play.

More sailing!

I love to go to the bow.  Can you see me sitting in front of Daddy?
I especially like to dangle my feet off the deck and let spray from the waves hit them - it's the best!

This is our powder room sink a.k.a.: THE CAR SWIMMING POOL!
The cars get in the train (on the right) and take a field trip to the pool on a regular basis.

I made these letters for my Mom and Dad while I was in Alabama.  We worked together to put them on the fridge.  Cool, no?

I have been expressing myself more and more through writing:
"I am so mad! Dot (Don't) repeat wat (what) I say"

"I'm a good cutter (cutting paper) and happy Ha Ha Ha!  I love you tons Momma"

"I am so mad"

This is St. Matthews, my old school.  I am counting for Daniel (right) and Zachary (left).  Daniel was my very best friend at St. Matthews.

Okay, so this is the puppy bunk bed.  You know you want one.

Vacation to Kansas

A few weeks ago, Momma, Daddy, and I drove to Kansas!  Our friends, Michael and Courtney, now live in Kansas.  We met them in Austin because Daddy and Michael were on Law Review together.

It was a long drive but I had a lot of fun things to do in the car.

And it was all worth it when we arrived! Here I am talking to Michael at the "Lake House."  The Lake House is on Lake Lotawana.  It is in Missouri.  I found it really interesting that we were in Kansas and then in Missouri and then back in Kansas . . .

There were other friends at the Lake House including this puppy!  The other friends were Karson and Chrissy (you can see Karson behind the puppy on the couch).

I had a lot of fun showing Tonic my cars.

I think the most fun I had, though, was at the Lake.  I went swimming, I rode a motor boat, I rode a jet ski, AND I went fishing:

We caught a total of 10 fish!  We put them all back to swim more in the Lake.  Guess what we used to catch them - yup, bacon!
Let's talk about the motor boat.  Although it was neat, I was vocally disappointed that it lacked a sail and a cabin.  I was very confused about why it did not have a bathroom - the sailboat has a bathroom.

We left the Lake House and headed to the City House.  The City House is in Kansas City (Kansas side but just a few minutes from Missouri).
Check out this tower!  It is part of a really neat World War I museum and monument.

It is REALLY tall!  I wanted to go to the top!

So we bought tickets!  First there was an elevator and then some stairs.  The sign said that there were 45 stairs but really there were 43.  I was sure to let everyone know that the sign was incorrect.

Wow!  Worth it!

After the tower, we were all pretty hungry so we went to Fitz's Railroad Restaurant.
It was an amazing place.

You call on a phone to order your food.

And then a train brings it.  Somehow we didn't get a picture of the train but toward the ceiling there are trains running around the restaurant delivering food!

After that, we went to a dinosaur exhibit.

And then to a Crayola store.
All of this cool stuff was at the Crown Center.

The City House has a backyard.  I had a lot of fun with sidewalk chalk on the deck.
This is a picture of a sail boat.

At the top of the picture is a snowman.  I am currently working on a rabbit who has lettuce (green) and carrots (pink) all around him.

The World War I monument tower was 217 feet tall.  I drew it and the Kemah Boardwalk Tower. You can see my drawing of the Boardwalk Tower in this picture.  I made a guess that it is 156 feet high.

And then we went to Union Station!
They have an AMAZING model train exhibit.

A Sail to Galveston

We got home today from a GREAT trip to Galveston.  We took Breezing Up (that's the sailboat) all the way from Clear Lake to Galveston - it's a 30-mile trip (one way).

This picture was taken in Galveston Bay at the beginning of our trip.

Check out this Breezing Up cap!  It is Uncle Bill's but I borrowed it for the trip.

Uncle Bill sailed with us on Monday.
Here we are talking about the GPS, compass, and other helm gadgets.

My local friends know that Houston has a Ship Channel that allows large ships to come very close to downtown Houston.  The Ship Channel goes from Houston past Galveston and then into the Gulf of Mexico.  We traveled within and along the Ship Channel for part of our trip.

We saw so many interesting ships.

That's Galveston in the background.  And how about that cool shrimp boat?

We made it!  This is the Harbor House.  It is a hotel and marina where boats like ours can use the boat dock.  The large, beautiful boat in front is the Elissa.

This is across from Harbor House.  Texas - oil.

A close-up of the Alyssa.  We docked just behind the Elissa and to the right of Harbor House.

Monday night we walked to dinner in Galveston and then slept aboard Breezing Up.  Do you know there are enough beds to sleep 5 people?

On Tuesday, Aunt Nettie drove to Galveston and we ALL went to SCHLITTERBAHN!  Oh yeah!  I have gone every year of my life and I LOVE it!  We had so much fun.

Aunt Nettie and Uncle Bill headed back to Houston Tuesday evening and momma, daddy, and I slept aboard another night.  We got up Wednesday morning and started our trip back to Houston.

And we're off!  Don't look now but this oil platform MOVES!

 More shrimp boats!

There is always something interesting to look at.

I love sitting on the bow and watching the waves.

I also enjoy taking a little time with media.  Here I am using my reader book.

It was a beautiful day for sailing!

 Daddy was the skipper!

 And the Angry Bird expert!
Momma was there too but the problem of taking the pictures is that you are not in them.

 How about this HUGE ship!

 I got a little tired . . .

Home . . . this is almost to our dock in Kemah.

 It was an AMAZING trip!
