Turning Two: introduction - 6 months

February 4, 2008
I was born at 12:40 in the afternoon and I weighed 6 pounds and 3 ounces (which is exactly what my daddy weighed when he was born.) I was 19 inches long.

March 2008 - 1 month
I can now roll over both ways and I weigh 8 pounds.

April 2008 - 2 months
I am smiling now!

May 2008 - 3 months
I am sleeping in my own bed, sucking my thumb, and drumming my fingers.

June 2008 - 4 months
I love playing. I can coo, sing, and squeal. I am laughing! I now weigh 13 pounds and am 24 inches long. I also have my first tooth.

July 2008 - 5 months
I can sit up with a little help and I started eating solid food. I tried rice cereal first (I don't really like it).

August 2008 - 6 months
I am enjoying food. I like pears and apples. I can get on my hands a knees but I am not yet crawling. I can sit up all by myself. I can even go from on my belly to sitting up with no help. Oh I also like squash and green beans. I am doing a lot of jabbering and playing with my feet. I like to watch things, especially the cats. PupPup is my new friend. I now weigh 16 lbs and 4 oz and am 26 1/2 inches long. I can really get around on the floor by rolling and scooting.

New Colors

I have new colors. I love them. I love to color.

I make circles, I make balls, I even make lollypops, and I make ones. Sometimes I make suns. They are easy to make - you just make a ball and then make ones coming off the ball.

I was using mostly my left hand but now I am using my left and right hand to color.

In other news: Momma and I biked to the park today to met friends from church. I had such a great time playing. When we got home, I kept saying, "You had so much fun with the big boys at the park." I have a little trouble with pronouns. I say "you" and mean "I" sometimes - this is very normal for people my age. Pronouns are tricky.

Rainy Day Pictures

Aunt Callie took some amazing pictures of me in November. You've seen one of them on the blog and a couple of them on our Christmas cards.

This is a beautiful park in Austin. It was a rainy day. At first it was just raining a little and then it started to pour. Even with the rain, Aunt Callie got some amazing pictures of me.

Thank you, Aunt Callie!

Sweet Chariot

"Check it out!"
How do you like my new chariot? I love it!

My chariot is attached to momma's bike. We have been enjoying our new way to travel.

Hello!
On Sunday afternoon momma, daddy, and I biked down a new bike trail near our house. It used to be train tracks but now it is a really amazing bike trail. It goes for miles. We had a great time.
Today, momma and I biked to the park!

I love my new mode of transportation!

Silly Pictures with Auntie Toni

These pictures were actually taken in December on one of the Wednesday nights that Auntie Toni came over to play with me while momma went to work.

I had a lot of fun putting this ball in my new Alabama sweat shirt.

We were just being silly and momma grabbed the camera.

In the last pictures you can see me flipping my Mr. and Ms. Potato Head people parts - it is so much fun. I love to spin and flip things.

in action

One of my new favorite things to do is to have a "Dance Party." Oh boy are they fun. I am particularly fond of having a Dance Party in just a diaper. I call this a "Dance Party in my naked body." I am a good dancer.

I love to "Do Letters." I like for momma to type them and I request 2 or 3 of each letter. Momma was only typing one of each letter in this video; I guess she did not want it to be too long. I "Do Numbers" too. I like to find letters and numbers in books we are reading. Sorry you cannot see the letters on the screen. Also, I will sing my ABCs for you in person but I am not ready to do that on camera just yet.

Soap Suds

First, we had a party.
It was a lot of fun and I was a great host until I had to go to bed and then I let momma and daddy take over my duties.

Second, we washed lots of dishes.

Third, we cleaned a few more dishes.

Everybody sing: "It's a hard knock life for us!"

Actually, who's complaining?
I have rarely had so much fun. How can you beat sitting on the counter with your legs crossed and helping to wash the dishes while getting soaking wet?

All dry. Check out these soap suds.

These are amazing!

Humm, I like doing dishes and examining the suds.

cozy car and sammy monkey

Here I am giving Sammy Monkey kisses while taking him for a ride.

Oh yeah, nothing like your first set of wheels.

And here I am at the drive through.

Sometimes you just have to eat in the car . . . I'm one busy guy.

I really love PupPup. This morning, I said, "Oh PupPup, you're so sweet."

Domino

While we were at granddaddy and grammy's house, I got to help grandaddy feed Domino doggie. I thought this was so very much fun.

See Domino? She is an old doggie who is very sweet and likes to be petted and to play ball.

It is a lot of fun to feed her because we go all the way to this small barn in the back yard to get her food. Then we have to carry her bowl back to the porch where she likes to spend most of her time.

In addition to helping to feed Domino, I got to help Uncle Blake play the guitar.

We are really pretty good.

And here we are. You can see momma, daddy, Uncle Blake in his Air Force gear getting ready to head back, Uncle Steve, grammy, me and granddaddy.

This post concludes the posts of our Christmas adventures. I hope you've enjoyed traveling to Alabama and Tennessee with me.

Cookies in Alabama

While we were at mimi and pop's house we made chocolate chip cookies.

I tried to pay close attention. This is brown sugar.

You have to make sure you get all the ingredients and measure them correctly.

Mimi helped me put the egg in the cookie dough.

I stuck my hand in the dry ingredients and then wiped my hand on my shirt.
I think it looks good. You?

I stuck my hand in again just for fun.

Well, just one more time.

Ah so you use a whisk instead of your hand. You could have told me sooner.

The chocolate chips are the best part.

Actually, turning the mixer on might be the best part. It is really loud and it SPINS!

I've thought about it and nope the chocolate chips are the best part.

We put the dough on cookie sheets.

And put them in the oven.

And waited.

Still waiting.

Aren't I waiting so nicely.

Hello cookies.

I had a lot of fun watching the timer. I love numbers!

I got tired of waiting in the kitchen so I decided to move to the living room and do the cookie dance.

Oh yeah, cookie dance!

I love to dance.

AND I LOVE COOKIES!

- worth the wait -

I am a great cook! These are delicious!
Thank you, Auntie Manda, for giving us your recipe!

Cookies make me . . .

. . . HAPPY!

And silly!

Oooooooo cookies, I love you!

Why are you giving me a towel?

I asked for, "More cookies!"
