Helmet success

Here I am in my bike helmet with daddy! I wore it all the way to Aunt Nettie's and Uncle Bill's house. Yesterday it was 83 degrees here! Today it is 65 degrees so I had to wear a jacket for the bike ride. We have such wonderful weather this time of year in Houston. You will remember that Aunt Nettie has doggies. I love them and the garden. I had a wonderful lunch.

Bicycle, bicycle, bike

First go to this link for theme music to this post:

As you groove to "I want to ride my bicycle" by Queen please enjoy these pictures of my first bike ride.

I loved it! I was not excited about wearing my helmet (you can see my helmet in the last picture). I love playing with it - I just don't want to wear it.

You can see some of our neighborhood behind me in the first pictures (this is the street where I live) and you can see the apartment complex across the street from our town home in the pictures of me with daddy.

Uh Oh

That's one small step

Actually make that TWELVE small steps!
(maybe I could start my own recovery program)

That's right Houston we have a walker!
I took 5 steps yesterday all by myself and this morning 5 or 6 more and then this afternoon I took 12 whole steps by myself.
I am walking!

I have not been willing to walk on screen yet - a bit too much pressure - but I assure you it won't be long before I create a post with a video of my walking feet.

I am also talking. I can say, "Uh Oh." I know what it means too. Yesterday I was saying it in the car and then momma discovered that I had removed my sock. I showed momma the sock and said, "Uh Oh." She was not so convinced that it was an accident, but what can I say?

Here are some pictures of me clapping. I love to clap my hands.

You say potato - I say potato salad

I love potato salad. Wow it is so tasty!

And I am learning to use a spoon. I really like to use big spoons: 1. they hold more 2. they make more noise when you bang them on your tray, the table, your parents.
This potato salad came from Auntie Em's birthday party. Happy Birthday! Bella (the dog you've heard me mention before - when I was a baby she thought I was a chew toy and now she thinks I am the beast of Revelation because I love her and follow her around) was at the party with her sister - TWO DOGS! I was in dog heaven and potato salad too - what a good day. Thanks Aunties Em, Amanda, Karon, and Toni!

I am thinking more and more about walking. I stand a lot! I particularly stand and clap and smile. I am a big boy. I will take a step, maybe two and that's it. I love to walk outside holding one of my parent's hands.

Bookshelf Birthday

Daddy made me these bookshelves for my birthday!
Thank you, daddy, I love them.

They are made of walnut and maple.

As you see this corner piece is created from a bookshelf on the left and right and in the middle is a table.  All together they form a corner bookshelf and they can also be used separately.

Do you see the cove moulding at the top of the bookshelves?  Daddy made it.  It started as a piece of wood and daddy cut it to make it curved and then sanded it to make it smooth.  Wow!

The center table has a trim of walnut with a strip of maple in the middle.
The top of the table is figured maple.  Pretty isn't it?

Here I am playing with my bookshelves. I had a great time rearranging my toys and books. My daddy is so smart.
