Favorite Doings

Owen: "What am I doing?"
Momma: "It looks like you are writing the time."
Owen: "You are close. I am making a digital clock to match the analog one."

I have really gotten excited about time. I have been interested in digital clocks for a while but now I am telling time with analog clocks, too.

Another of my favorite things is cooking with daddy, especially when the cooking involves chocolate!

Yumm!
"This is delicious, right?"
"You could say it is scrumptious."

I have always loved shapes and well, not much has changed except now I use them to make my "shape friend."

"Look at his toenails and his eyebrows."

Wet

Let me tell you about the fun I had at Alabama Ice House (here in Houston). They had a GIGANTIC blow-up water slide (we apologize for not taking a picture of it but believe me it was huge). I had so much fun playing with the big kids and getting all wet!
Here I am sitting on the end of the slide watching the big kids come down so super fast!

And then I got to eat an ice cream!

You cannot really see it in this picture, but momma got soaking wet, too. We did not know they would have the water slide so we did not bring our swimming clothes. I just wore my shorts. I got momma VERY wet during the adventure.

Born to Be Wild

On Thursday I went to see my FIRST MOVIE! It was not just any movie . . . it was 60 min of IMAX, 3D delight about baby animals! WOW!

My friends Mac, Virginia, and Lynn went with me and my momma.
Here I am with Mac. Did you notice that we have on the same shorts?

The movie is showing at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
You can learn more and watch a trailer here:
http://www.hmns.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=413&Itemid=452

The movie is about baby elephants and baby orangutans that have been rescued and are being cared for by humans before they return to the wild. It is really delightful!

What do you think of the 3D glasses? I wore mine about half the time but I did not want to wear them for a picture. The only part I did not enjoy was at the very beginning. There were "blue flashy numbers that counted down to the movie and they were scary." I talked about these numbers and the disfavor in which I held them a lot throughout the day: "I liked those baby animals. The baby elephants in the mud were funny. I did not like those flashy blue numbers!"

A bad dream

4:48 AM
Owen: Crying
Momma: "Oh, Owen, what is going on?"
Owen: "You would not share your M&Ms. I kept asking and you just said, 'No, Owen, no!'" More crying. "It made me so sad." More crying. "Really, really sad."
Momma: "It sounds like you had a bad dream."
Owen: "I did and now we need a plan."
Momma: "What plan would help?"
Owen: "You just need to hold me and sleep with me until 6:00 AM when we can get daddy and then he can hold me."

Coloring

Lately, I have really enjoyed coloring. To be specific, I have been doing a lot of work focusing on coloring in the lines.

This is a bulletin board at school. Ms. Samantha's clown is on the top left and mine is on the top right. Ms. Samantha told us to color our clowns just like she colored her clown. I worked very hard on this project. When momma came to get me, my teachers were very excited to show her my work. I suggested that she take a picture.

I am a little tired in this video as you will notice because I keep rubbing my eyes. This was taken the week of Camp Community. You can see me coloring. I love to color with markers!

Camp Community - green

This is David! I call him Uncle David. He did the music for camp. We had so much fun singing and doing motions to songs.

My momma led songs too. She focused on silly songs! That's her speciality!

Sometimes I did not want to sit with everyone else . . .

Notice, I am nowhere to be seen.

Fun friends!

This is Candy. She taught the drama and heritage class. I loved this class. She read us really neat books and had so many fun things to play with!

This book is a story from Haiti and it is about a fairy. I requested it every day!

Camp Community - blue

Each day of camp we wore a different color. It was so fun to match. I like to match people.

This picture shows the game time. This is not my class but my class did get to do games each day. The biggest boy in the middle is Sam. I think he is pretty amazing. I kept calling him, "The biggest boy, Sam."

Run!

More craft fun! See Kathleen? She is helping Westley. She was our group leader.
One day she asked me a question and I said, "Nokay" (a combination of no and okay). I explained to my momma, "I told Kathleen, 'nokay' and she laughed and laughed. She thinks I am so funny."

I am funny!
This is MY earth ball. Momma brought it to camp to show everyone where each of the islands we learned about were located. I was not so excited about sharing my earth ball with the other kids at camp.

Camp Community

Last week was Camp Community at my church!

This was my first year to attend Camp Community (this is what our church calls Vacation Bible School). I had so much fun with the other three year olds in my class!

And with the leaders! This is Laura! She taught art.

Jennifer, Elliot's mom, took theses pictures. I was mostly cooperative with the camera but not always (as you see).

This is the Bible Story class. See momma? On the right is Jeremy; he is another minister at our church. My friends Westley, Elliot, and Elyse came to camp (Elyse is not in any of these pictures because she could only come the first two days).

We are building a boat while we talk about Paul.
One day in Bible Story, momma said, "Today, we are going to hear another story about Paul." I said, "My puppy has paws." She explained that she was saying the name Paul. Turns out Paul spent a lot of time on boats and on islands. The theme for the week was Island Odyssey.

Boat building is tough work!

I will post more camp pictures soon. Thank you, Jennifer, for taking such great pictures.

Say what?

Owen: "Can we go to Hickory Hallow for dinner tonight?"
Mom: "That is a good idea, and no, we cannot. We are going home and having some chicken and salad."
Owen: "What happens if I ask again with really good manners?"

Owen: "Help! I am stuck! Help! Help!" --- Mom and Dad found me squeezed into a laundry basket with ALL my stuffed animals. I could not get out by myself. They said we looked like a bunch of sardines.

Stories from Alabama

When Mimi told me I was going to Houston house I asked, "Are you going to miss me, Mimi?"

At nap time, as Mimi was reading to me, I took her glasses off and told her that she did not need them in the bedroom because it wasn't bright.

When Mimi told me we needed to brush our teeth I explained that I didn't need to because I always put my hand over my mouth when I cough ( then I did a demonstration of covering a cough).

I loved to make a "maze" in the pool with my hands and I tried to get Mimi and Pops to do it too.

I enjoyed getting all of the pillows from Mimi and Pops' bed and making a "nest."

Water, Water, Everywhere

Okay, so no water involved in swinging . . . but a boy has to take a break on land sometimes.

I mean, there's jumping . . .

and eating.
