Splash Day

My school, St. Matthew's, had SPLASH DAY last week!

I do not know when I have had so much fun!

Check out this jump! There were pools and sprinklers and bubbles and friends . . .

Here's Elyse! Did you know that we go to the same school? She is my very good friend. Here momma, Aunt Sharron, came to Splash Day to help with drying off and changing clothes and she took these pictures. Thank you.

SPLASH DAY was a week ago today. I have talked about it endlessly. I cannot wait until we have SPLASH DAY again.

In other news, I am on a "Summer Break" this week and next week. When I return to school, I will be in the Ladybug Class! I am very excited!

During my break from school, friends are coming over to play with me while momma works. I am having so much fun!

And what were my parents doing?

While I was playing at mimi and pop's house my momma was in California:

She was at a meeting of the Alliance of Baptists. It was on the beach. Beautiful, no?

And what was daddy doing?
In addition to working, daddy got to go to the water, too. Here's daddy on Uncle Bill and Aunt Nettie's sail boat.

In addition to all this fun, my daddy built a new mantel for our fireplace:

I LOVE it. Thank you, daddy!

In case you do not remember what it used to look like. Here is a picture:

In other news, grammy, granddaddy, mimi, and pops got me these letters and numbers! I am having so much fun putting them in order.

Around the living room and down the hall . . .

Traffic Laws

Owen: "Momma! O no! You are not to go until the light turns green!"
Momma: "It is okay. I can turn right when the light is red. If I am going straight I need to wait until the light is green but if I am turning right I can do that when it is red if no other cars are coming."
Owen: "I don't think so. Red means stop."
Momma: "That is true and there is a traffic rule that says you can turn right on red."
Owen: "Did daddy tell you that?"
Momma: "Daddy knows that. Actually Uncle Steve and grandaddy taught me to drive a car."
Owen: "I need to tell to them that red means stop."

My great-great grandparents travel trunk

Momma took these pictures while we were in Alabama just before my 2 and a half birthday (it was August 4).

The travel trunk I am sitting on belonged to my great-great grandparents on my mother's side. It was at my great-grandmother's house and momma brought it to Alabama where mimi and pops have been keeping it safe.

This trunk is really old and I am pretty young. I think we look good together.

Trip to Alabama: Post 4

Would you look at POPS? WOW! Great kick!

Soccer anyone?

Too hot. Time to take off my shirt again.

One of the many great things about visiting mimi and pops is that their neighbors have a little boy close to my age. This is Jaxon and he and his sister, Surayah, come over to play with me when I am visiting.

Their daddy is very good at soccer. He gave me some pointers.

Here's Jaxon.

Three children playing . . . so fun!

Did I mention that it was hot? Mimi gave me ice water. Thanks, mimi.

Can you turn a flip?

I need a little help.

Flips are fun. I have been helping PupPup to turn flips before I go to sleep each night.

Thank you, mimi for taking all of these pictures!

Lost in translation

Owen: "Do we have cat piss?"

Daddy: "I don't understand."

Owen: "I am asking - do we have cat piss?"

Daddy: "We have two cats."

Owen: "I want cat piss not cats!"

Daddy: "Do you want a cactus?"

Owen: "Yes! I want a cat piss."
