How to get Swine Flu

Mutti sent me this in an email with a note saying: "Somehow I could see Owen doing this!"
Her email made me laugh very hard so I wanted to share it with all of you.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I have been working hard on Mother's Day cards for momma, grammy, mimi, mutti, and my great-grandmother. I used my favorite colors and put a great deal of happiness into my efforts. I am a bit slower with the mailing of my creations but they are coming, I promise.

Momma wore a headband the other day. Do you know about these? This is one amazing apparatus to keep your hair back. I simply had to give it a try. I look good, no?

Church Retreat

We went to Church Retreat this past weekend at Camp Allen.  It was so much fun!

And the walking man walks . . .

He just walks on by . . .

Jody, one of our childcare workers, came on retreat too.  She read me books and played with me.

Check out that car.  I cannot wait until I am old enough to ride.

There was even a canoe trip.  Momma and I did not go on the canoe but we watched.

I got to ride in the backpack too.  As you see from my yawn - the day's adventures were wearing me out.

THE RAMP
I love this thing.  I walked up and down the ramp - over and over and over.

Sometimes friends joined me.  Everyone played with me.  It was so much fun.

Here's the Covenant Retreat Band.  Every time they played, I danced along!

Go Deacs!

As you know we recently went to North Carolina. While we were there we went to Wake Forest University. My momma and daddy completed MDivs at The Divinity School at Wake Forest. I got to meet their professors and see the beautiful campus. We had a great time. I also got this great shirt.

I met lots of friends including Diane and her sons James and Christopher. I got to go to their house. They have a doggie and a cat!! Christopher showed me around and played with me. I had so much fun. I also met Melissa, Bill, and Jill! Wow!

The Wake Forest mascot is a Demon Deacon (see the demon deacon on my shirt?). Bill, the Dean of the Divinity School, says, "If you know Baptist churches, you understand this mascot perfectly." Go Deacs!

THE KEY: Okay, I have been working really hard at unlocking the baby gate that keeps me upstairs. I get the keys and then I put them in the gate and turn them. I have not opened it yet but I know I am getting close.

I learned a new trick!  My parents are not near as delighted as I am about this discovery!

Abacus

These pictures are from the playground near Elyse's house. Aunt Sharron took them. I like to play with the weather station. Houston weather is easy it is either sunny or raining OR sunny and raining.

Momma and I were playing with the giant abacus there. Very fun!

The cats are so funny. I love to laugh at them. Sometimes I call them doggie and sometimes I say cat - they know what I mean. Zoe (stripes) actually let me pet her two days ago! I was impressed especially since I try to pet gently but it is really difficult to keep from getting too excited.

Tomato babies! My folks have had this tomato plant since before I was born and it finally made babies!
